I am pleased to announce that YoungBiz is continuing its global expansion, now moving into Africa. We welcome our new master franchisees, Julie and Robert Spendley, who will be promoting YoungBiz financial literacy, business, and entrepreneurship education products and services across the country of South Africa.

Rob and Julie are experienced entrepreneurs who will coordinate an aggressive South African initiative. They will be opening branch offices throughout the country in order to reach schools, youth organizations, families, and business leaders.

Since YoungBiz UK was launched in the fall of 2004, we have learned a great deal about franchising. We know that a well-capitalized, experienced entrepreneur can make all the difference in the successful execution of a plan to expand into a new territory. Julie definitely meets these criteria, so we are very confident of our plans for the roll-out in South Africa.

We also plan to leverage the new South African teams to reach other African nations, where the type of training YoungBiz offers is so sorely needed. It is our hope to be part of the answer to the extreme poverty in some of the regions of Africa, as we show families the way to economic self-sufficiency and help them develop entrepreneurial skills.
