USS Biz Trek Activity # 33:

Business forms are important tools for running your business. These are some of the forms that can help you be more organized:

  • Order Form: Use order forms to keep detailed records of your sales. This may seem very obvious, but many sales are lost when customers don’t get exactly what they ordered. Think about the last time a restaurant goofed up your order. How did it make you feel? Keeping the customer happy is job number one.
  • Receipt Form: Every time a customer pays you money, you should provide a written receipt. You can use a generic receipt book from the office supply store or create a receipt form on your computer. The receipt should show the date of the purchase, the items that were purchased, and the exact amount of money received.
  • Customer Invoice (the bill): When you finish a job or deliver a product, you generally get paid by presenting a bill. An invoice is a special form used to tell customers how much they owe. Again, make sure that all of the details of the sale are listed on the invoice.

Loggin’ On

Forms that have your company name and logo on them add a professional flair. In your USS Biz Trek log, make a list of the forms you want to use in your business. Then go to Iprint at the Yahoo Small Business Center. Here, you will be allowed to design and print one sample of each form.
