USS Biz Trek Activity #4: Collect Business IdeasAs you read Lesson 2 and reviewed the YoungBiz Top 100 report, you probably saw some business ideas that looked interesting and profitable. Your mission now is to make a master list of businesses you might start. Loggin On!Make a new page in your USS Biz Trek log titled "Business Ideas." At the top left of the page make a column labeled "Skills & Talents." Under this heading, list 10 or more things you know how to do (examples: bake brownies, play the drums, program in html, paint murals, do magic tricks, etc.). To the right of each skill or talent, list some ways you might use this skill to earn money. For example, the skill of playing drums might lead to starting a rock band, giving drum lessons, or writing music. If you need help thinking of ways to turn your talent into business, visit the Top 100 list again and look for more ideas. What about all those busy people we talked about earlier? If you haven’t called your 12 busy neighbors and asked what goods or services would help save them time, money, or labor do it now. Make another section on your Business Ideas page for a column labeled "Customer Needs." Under this heading, list business ideas that involve solving problems or needs of your friends and neighbors. As you go about your daily activities, continue looking for business ideas and adding them to your list. You never know when one of those ideas will pay off big! Finished?
