Loggin’ On

Have you decided how you will finance the start-up of your business? Open your USS Biz Trek log to a new page and title it "Options for Financing." List some ways you could get financing. Be sure to also keep the following questions in mind when seeking venture capital:

  • How much money do you need?
  • Would you be willing to sell part of your business to get venture capital?
  • Do you prefer debt financing or equity financing? Why?
  • Are there any other types of financing available to you?

For more information about the difference between debt and equity financing, visit the Office Depot Business Solutions site. As you read about types of financing, take notes in your USS Biz Trek log. Then use your browser’s back button to return here.

Now make a list of potential investors for your business. Beside each name, make notes about the amount of capital you could request and how you would prefer to structure the financial arrangements.
