How to Use an Invoice

When you finish a job or deliver a product, you get paid by presenting a bill. An invoice is one form you can use as a customer bill. When they receive the invoice, it tells them it’s time to get out the checkbook and pay.

Below is a sample invoice form. You can also buy invoices forms at office supply stores or create them on your computer. It is a good idea to number your invoices. That way, if you have a customer who buys from you frequently, you can refer to the number of the invoice that is due.
