Create a Statement

Now that you have your business idea, you will need to write a mission statement. A mission statement is a personal statement on where you see your business going. It is designed to keep your goals on course and in order.

Your first mission statement should answer these three questions:

• Where are you now?

• Where do you want to go?

• How will you get there?

Once your business is well on its way, you may want to change that statement to reflect your vision to your community and customers. Since now you know where you are going, you need to clarify to yourself and others exactly how you are going to get there.

After visiting the site, print this page out, and use it to work on a rough draft of your mission statement. Once you have it polished, write your final version in your Biz Trek log.
