Companies who want to raise money by selling stocks and bonds go to the stock exchange on Wall Street looking for people who are interested in becoming investors. Stockbrokers are licensed to represent companies or individuals who want to buy and sell stock. Why should I care about investing?Every dollar you spend is an investment in something. Let’s say you earn $100, for example, and use the money to buy a pair of roller blades. Then you go home, put on the roller blades, and go skating for an hour. Now how much are the roller blades worth? (A lot less than the $100 you invested!) This is an example of investing in something that decreases in value.
